Welcome to Pete Ransom Photography. I became interested in photography many years ago when my grandfather bought me a compact camera while I was still at primary school. At the time, I had a fascination with light sources however I was completely unaware how closely linked lighting and photography are.

As I grew up I learned to utilise lighting to create atmosphere, drama and mood on-stage for hundreds of live performances. Meanwhile I had upgraded my camera to a 35mm Canon SLR.

I have now moved on into the digital age and find the ability to instantly review and refine lighting and camera settings invaluable. I am fascinated with light and how it can change the mood of a scene, room or object and digital allows me experiment with how I am lighting a shot.
